Ten centenarians tell their life histories in a new series of ten x ten-minute films. They all have one thing in common – they were born the year the Titanic sank. The sinking of Belfast’s most famous ship in 1912 was a tragedy. It led to the deaths of over a thousand five hundred people. However, that same year saw new life and new beginnings in the north of Ireland. That was the year the contributors for our series were born. The ten people selected to take part in The Titanic Generation will allow us to construct an uplifting, intriguing and thought-provoking social history of ordinary lives that began in an extraordinary year.
